Nights of Eternity Counter-Picks: Survivor vs Killer

Counter-picking in Nights of Eternity is not about finding a perfect answer. It is about finding the kit that makes your job against a specific killer honest. A good counter reduces the number of decisions you have to make under pressure. This page is matchup notes for public lobbies. Coordinated stacks can ignore a piece of this; solo queue cannot.

Survivor side answers: which free or cheap survivor should you queue into a killer you expect? Killer side answers: which killer should you pick when you see a lobby full of one type? Cabinet strategy stays on arcade objectives. Chase survival stays on how to survive the night.

Phone Guy into every killer Phone Guy is not a counter-pick in the classic sense. He is a sentinel with a 3-second Taunt on a 40-second cooldown and a channeled Repair that grows into a HP and max HP stack. His value against every killer is the same: create a window, then heal during it. If you do not know what killer you are facing, queue Phone Guy. He does not fold to Foxy stealth or Freddy zone or Bonnie anti-heal.

Night Guard into Foxy Foxy wins by Sneaking into isolated cabinet runners and deleting them with Pounce 40 before a team can react. Night Guard Mask (Invisibility plus Undetectable) is the direct answer: sit a cabinet, hear Sneak audio cue, Mask before Pounce lands. Overtime speed then extends the loop. Queue him because the lobby is splitting across cabinets and Foxy is the likely hunter.

Henry into Freddy Freddy is a zoner who wants survivors to walk into Lullaby plushies and Mic Throw tags before a Swing. Henry Brace is a parry that punishes Swing commits. If the lobby is already running three clusters at once, Henry does not counter Freddy travel problem.

Evan into Withered Bonnie Withered Bonnie counters Evan directly: Punch anti-heal cuts Plushie healing in half for 8 seconds. But Evan Plushie still heals 10 HP over 5 seconds even through anti-heal. Queue Evan into Bonnie when the rest of the lobby is already stacking heals.

Survivor vs killer matchups

Michael into Freddy Freddy is the only killer where Michael Shocker zone has enough time to matter. Mic Throw tags force survivors to cross floors; a Shocker on that floor turns the crossing into a slow trap. Self Shock then heals 10 HP and grants speed.

Cassidy into Springtrap Springtrap complete toolkit means no survivor has a free matchup against him. Cassidy advantage is Torment: the large hitbox applies slow to Springtrap while she holds attention, and ITS ME heals her through the pressure.

Springtrap into everyone Springtrap is the free killer who does not counter-pick. He has an answer to every survivor kit. The only matchup where another killer is clearly better is when the lobby is all Cassidy and heal-stacking.

Withered Bonnie into heal comps If the lobby queues Evan, Cassidy, and Phone Guy all on the same team, Withered Bonnie is the correct killer choice. Punch anti-heal makes all three of those kits worse at their primary job.

Foxy into scattered lobbies Foxy Pounce 40 is highest single-hit damage on the killer roster. Foxy is the correct pick when the lobby splits across five clusters at once and nobody is playing sentinel.

Freddy into grouped lobbies Freddy Lullaby plushies apply Slowness and Weakness to everyone in the radius. If a lobby clumps on one or two clusters instead of spreading, Freddy plants a plush and waits.

When not to counter-pick If you do not own the counter-kit, do not spend tokens the night before a ranked session. The free pair (Phone Guy and Night Guard) are honest against every killer in solo queue.
